Plans are to to construct Kings Logistics Center warehouse facilities.
The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners on Sept. 21 approved the site plan for a new cross-dock warehouse facility on Kings Highway at Interstate 95 and Orange Avenue.
Seefried Industrial Properties, the company currently developing the 1.1-million-square-foot Amazon fulfillment center on Midway Road in Port St. Lucie, plans to construct Kings Logistics Center warehouse facilities from 300,000 to 658,000 square feet. The facilities on the 65-acre site in the unincorporated county will be available for long-term lease.
While end users for the project have not yet been identified, a U.S. Energy Information Administration survey estimates 1,500 square feet per employee for this type of facility, for a total of approximately 439. The site plan includes 770 car parking spaces and 354 trailer spaces.
“We were very pleased to have been able to assist a developer of the caliber of Seefried Industrial Properties with acquisition of this light industrial site, as well as expedited site plan review and approval,” said Pete Tesch, president of the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County. “These attractive Class-A facilities will serve as the commercial gateway to the Kings Highway corridor.”
As part of the site plan approval process, $230,277 will be provided by the developer to the county’s Environmental Resources Department toward the pending purchase of environmentally significant lands along Ten Mile Creek.
The Kings Logistics Center location in northern St. Lucie County complements other major new distribution/logistics projects underway in south county at Legacy Park at Tradition and mid-county at the Interstate Crossroads Business Center. St. Lucie County is located equidistant between Miami and Orlando.
